Agrochemicals

Some of our farmers are mixing fertilizers with pesticides and can say medicine instead of fertilizers. Although pesticides are very different from each other, pesticides and fertilizers can be perceived as if they are the same or similar. Although the misuse of both causes some harm, the misuse of fertilizers remains rather dim, besides the harmful effects of pesticides.

The use of pesticides should also be used in agricultural production in order to meet the increasing world nutritional needs with the increase in the world population and the decrease in agricultural areas, and to obtain more products from the unit area.

The general name of chemicals used to combat diseases, pests and weeds that cause decreased yield and product loss during agricultural production is called pesticides.

Pesticides are classified under different groups depending on their chemical structure and their effect area. Today, more than 500 pesticides, which are included in the pesticide handbook according to their active substance, have pesticides with more than 2000 trade names that have been formed with different formulations.

The toxic effects of pesticides differ according to their chemical structure. Toxic effects of pesticides found by experimenting on the subject animals are expressed by the LD50 value known as lethal dose. LD 50 is the dose amount that kills 50% of the experimental animals in a single dose application. The smaller the LD50 value, the higher the toxicity rate. According to these values, pesticides are divided into classes such as very toxic, poisonous and non-toxic.

Pesticides show different effects against pests.

1. Stomach Poison
2.Touch (Contact) Poison
3. Respiratory (Inhalation) Poison
4. Like nerve poison.

They are also classified according to their attachment in different ways in the plant structure.

1.Sistemik on
2.Semi-Systemic
3. Like Non-Systemic.
